Care Guide and Recommendations

Habitat Requirements:

• Cage: A roomy, non-toxic powder-coated metal cage is essential. The minimum recommended size is double the span of their wings when stretched out, but a larger cage is always better.
• Environment: Maintain a humid and warm environment. Regular misting or showering is beneficial, along with specialized shower and window perches.
• Bedding: Use fresh, comfy recycled paper bedding, aspen shavings, or corn cob.
• Toys: Conures love to chew, so providing 5-7 toys (a mix of hard and soft chewable, food-grade colored toys) will support their healthy lifestyle.
• Perches: Include a combination of sand perches for nail and beak filing and regular perches, preferably made of Java or dragon wood.
• Feeding: A mixture of Tropican and Tropimix food, along with mineral and vitamin supplements (Clay Cal and Prime Vitamin Amino Acid Mixture), should be provided. Fresh fruits and veggies are also essential for a balanced diet.
• Water: Regular tap water should be provided in a separate bowl, changed at least once a day or whenever droppings are seen.
• Hideout: Offer a hammock or tent to give your conure a sense of security and reduce stress from unwanted exposure.
• Lighting: UVA/UVB lighting is crucial for processing calcium and regulating temperature in the cage. A metal dome light is recommended.
