Grey Singer
The Grey Singer (Crithagra leucopygius), or White-rumped Seedeater, is a small finch known for its beautiful, melodic song. Native to various African regions such as the Central African Republic, Chad, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, it thrives in dry savanna environments. Initially classified under the genus Serinus, DNA analysis has since placed it in the Crithagra genus.

Temperament
Grey Singers are territorial and can display aggressive behavior towards other Grey Singers, particularly during breeding. Caution is advised when housing multiple birds.
Breeding Habits
They build compact cup nests from plant materials like stems, fibers, and leaves. During breeding, they consume a diet rich in protein, often eating 8-12 mealworms daily. Outside breeding, they are less interested in live food.
